The extension processes the following data locally on your device only:

  • Read Post IDs: Unique identifiers of posts you've viewed on x.com for more than 2 seconds
  • Browse Time: Daily time spent on x.com for statistics display

How We Use Your Data

All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data is used to:

  • Mark previously viewed posts with a visual indicator (grayed out)
  • Display statistics in the extension popup (number of posts read, time spent)
  • Automatically clean up records older than 90 days to optimize storage

Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • No data is sent to external servers or third parties
  • No network requests are made by this extension
  • No cookies or tracking technologies are used
  • You can clear all data at any time via the extension popup

Permissions Explained

storage

Required to save read post IDs and browse time statistics locally on your device.

alarms

Required to schedule automatic cleanup of old data (records older than 90 days).

host_permissions: x.com

Required to inject the content script that detects and marks read posts on x.com. The extension only works on x.com.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party services, analytics, or external APIs.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View your statistics in the extension popup
  • Delete: Clear all data using the "Clear Data" button in the popup
  • Uninstall: Removing the extension will delete all local data

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age of 13.
